Buoyant demand holds up China lysine prices

Lysine prices moved higher during the week ending May 28.

As the feed demand from the hog sector increased while soymeal prices surged considerably of late, feed millers eagerly restocked lysine depleting inventories. Hence, prices of lysine increased more prominently over the week amid strengthened demands.

Price quotes of 98.5-percent lysine increased to the range of RMB11.05-11.20/kg.

The recovery of the hog market will lend further support to the lysine market.
